Mosaic Monthly March 2026

Focus for March - Anti-Racism

March is recognized internationally as Anti-Racism Month, centered around the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21st. This month-long, global campaign promotes equality, diversity, and solidarity against systemic racism. March 21st commemorates the 1960 Sharpeville massacre in South Africa, where 69 people were killed during a peaceful protest against apartheid. Anti-racism month acts as a call to action to address racial discrimination in education, employment, housing, and justice systems.

Our Mosaic Community is diving deep into Anti-Racism work and education this month. During our Common Grounds gatherings we will be covering Wilmington and Eastern North Carolina’s History with racism.

You are invited to take the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®). The IDI is not a religious instrument, but it is a premier assessment of intercultural competence. It is a proven tool used for decades by numerous businesses, educational institutions, governments, and non-profits. You can learn more about that and register HERE.

Lent

We are continuing our season of Lent. Over these forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The English word “Lent” comes from the Anglo–Saxon word lencten, which means “lengthen” and refers to the lengthening days of "spring." In many other languages, the word used for this season refers to the 40-day length of the season (cuaresma in Spanish and Tagalog, carême in French, quaresima in Italian) or to the fasting that characterizes it (Fastenzeit in German, fastan in Swedish, paasto in Finnish, posta in Russian). The season is a preparing for the work we will do in the world as we become the hands and feet of justice in the world following Easter.

This year we are Cleaning our Houses. Our bodies are temples created in the image of the devine. In order to follow our call we must walk through our physical soul houses and focus on:

  • Living Room - Embracing the choas and mess, because life is messy.

  • Kitchen - Focus on nourishing our bodies for the work we do.

  • Hallway - Understand that the hallways of life, the liminal spaces are valuable. Instead of running form room to room, take the time to sit in the empty spaces and gather our thoughts.

  • Bathroom - We must learn to love our bodies and let go of the shame. You are made in the image of the devine.

  • Bedroom - Rest is holy. Make a regualar. schedule of resting away from phones, TV, and the world.

Support our Work

You can visit our online Giving Basket Here.

Our giving basket helps in many ways. You can donate to help us pay utilities, crayons, and all the things it takes to run a church. You can also give to our Crowded Table Coffee Shop, or you can donate your time and talents to our work.

We are still fundraising and building our Common Table Coffee shop. The next big tasks are repairing the wood floors, setting up the office, and removing the patio cover. You can email office@LoveLivesHere.church to volunteer to help. Please visit our Wish list to see the items we need and help.
