Monthly Board Meeting

Mosaic operates in an open model to reduce the abuse of power and answer to the harm done by churches. All church finances, staffing, and programming are open to the community.

Mosaic runs on a one board model. Each board member is trained in the offices and duties of the board. The duties of the board are as follows:

Trustees - The Board Acts as the legal arm of the church. All changes to the physical structure must be approved. All issues regarding the property (ex- safe sanctuaries, immigrant safety, parking lot use).

SPRC - The board along with two lay leaders will oversee the relations between the staff and community. Any greiviences can be submitted to the lay leaders who will share them with the board. The board has final say on staff hiring, terminating, and disciplinary actions. Refuge Coffee employees fall under the Coffee Board.

Budget - The board will create a yearly budget during the month of October to be presented to the community. This will be presented in The November meeting. All staff and ministries must report to the board any needs for the coming year. Anything spent outside of the budget must be approved by the board.

Finances - The board is responsible for community finances. At the January meeting the board will assign positions of Financial Secretary and Treasurer. They will be responsible for collecting and depositing any monies collected during programs and accept payroll notices fro the Accountant and oversee the monthly payroll.

Programming - Any requested programs must be approved by the board. The can be submitted to office@loveliveshere.church. All request must have a person assigned to oversee the program. (ex - a game night must be submitted with a responsible party that will be at each event and oversee opening the building and cleaning after.)

Lay leaders - Two lay leaders will be appointed by the board during the January Meeting. the leaders will act as the intermediaries between the board and the community and the voice of the people. They do not have voting rights on the board.

All board members must be part of the Mosaic Community. This requires a commitment of time, gifts, and service.
