Four years ago, we set out to build a different kind of church — one shaped by the people the church had already harmed. LGBTQ+ people who'd been asked to hide or change. Neurodivergent people who'd been told they were too much, or not enough, for a pew. People deconstructing a faith that had hurt them, who weren't sure "church" was a word they could use again.
We didn't get here with a plan. We got here by listening, getting things wrong, and rebuilding — over and over — around what people actually needed instead of what we assumed they needed. Every resource in this shop came out of that process. Not theory. Not a curriculum written in a vacuum. Things we built, used, adjusted, and used again, in a real community, with real people.
Everything here is fully inclusive — LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent-aware, and built without the assumption that everyone in the room shares the same theology, family structure, or history with faith. If it didn't work for our own community, it doesn't go in this shop.
We're not perfect at this. We're still learning. But we'd rather hand you what we've learned than make you start from nothing.
Advent
A five-week Advent candle-lighting liturgy that pairs the same scripture congregations have read for centuries with the real, documented lives of LGBTQ+ justice fighters who carried Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love into a world that resisted them.

An 8-Week Elementary Social Justice Curriculum for Lent
Help kids discover that Lent isn’t only about giving something up—it can also be about putting love into action.
Lent for Kids: Love in Action is a complete eight-week curriculum that takes children from the Sunday before Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday. Each week connects a Bible story with a social justice theme and introduces children to a real young person who made a difference in the world.
Children explore fairness, generosity, creation and animal care, speaking up for others, welcoming neighbors, making sure everyone is seen, and discovering what can happen when people use their voices together. Along the way, they meet young changemakers including Ruby Bridges, Katie Stagliano, Bindi Irwin, Malala Yousafzai, Mari Copeny, Marley Dias, and Naomi Wadler.
Every weekly lesson includes a Bible verse, kid-friendly Bible story, featured young changemaker, discussion question, and simple hands-on craft designed to be completed during a 20–30 minute class. Most activities use basic supplies you probably already have—construction paper, markers, scissors, glue, and other inexpensive craft materials.
The curriculum concludes on Easter with a New Life, New Mission celebration that commissions the children to carry what they have learned beyond Lent, plus a printable My Lent Kindness Calendar for children to use throughout the season.
Best of all, the curriculum is undated and reusable. Because the lessons follow the Sundays of Lent rather than specific calendar dates, churches and families can use the resource again year after year.
