Throughout September, we are collecting used blankets, towels, and boxes for Rainbow Connection Farm and other local animal shelters.

Welcome to Mosaic Faith Community, where questions are welcome, people matter more than doctrine, and everyone belongs. This month we are exploring animal justice: how our choices, communities, and faith traditions can help create a kinder world for animals and people.
Gathering Prayer
Giving Baskets
Our Giving Baskets offer three ways to support and care for our community. You may give spare change to help keep the lights on. You may share your time and talents—can you bake cookies, change a lightbulb, or help in another way? You may also write down a private need. Private needs will be shared only with the Mosaic Lead Team and Pastor Kelley. Give only as you are able; your presence is already a gift. To give online, visit mosaicwilmington.org/giving.

Rainbow Rug
Our children are part of our community, so instead of having them sit and watch adults preach to them, they give their own sermons. Children and young people are invited to bring something they would like to share—a toy, book, picture, story, creation, or anything else that is important to them. Together, we listen, ask questions, and discover what their sharing can teach the whole community.

Dialogos Discussion
After the Dialogos sermon, everyone is invited into an open discussion. We share what we heard, what challenged us, and what connections we see between these ancient voices and the world we are living in today. You may speak, ask a question, or simply listen.
Joys, Sorrows, and Gratitude — Candle Lighting
After the Common Ground sermon, we make room for the lives we are carrying with us. You are invited to light a candle and, if you wish, name a joy, sorrow, concern, or gratitude. You may also light a candle in silence.

This Week at Mosaic
Sunday: Dialogos at 11:00 AM • Coffee Hour at 12:00 PM • Common Ground at 1:00 PM
Tuesday — Community Workday and Open Office Hours, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM: This week we will remove the old air-conditioning vent, clean the area, and seal the floor.
Wednesday — Open Office Hours, 2:00–7:00 PM: Band rehearsal is from 5:00–6:00 PM. A pay-what-you-can vegan dinner is served from 6:00–7:00 PM, with activities for children and teens led by Laurel.

Join us for one combined Mosaic service with our unhoused friends helping lead worship, followed by a shared brunch.
Homecoming and All Saints — Sunday, November 1 at 1:00 PM
We will gather for one combined service to remember those who came before us, welcome members, ring bells in remembrance, and sing beloved songs together.

September Giving Project
Please bring clean, used blankets, towels, and boxes for Rainbow Connection Farm and other local shelters. These everyday supplies provide bedding, warmth, transportation, enrichment, and practical care for rescued animals.
Butterfly Families
Butterfly Families meets on the third Thursday from 5:30–7:00 PM with Chrissy Keefe, LCSW. This supportive gathering is not therapy.
Coming Soon — Harm to Healing
Beginning online in October, this inclusive, queer-led gathering will help people recognize harm caused by churches and other groups, find the courage to leave, and begin healing in supportive community.
A Note from Pastor Kelley
Mosaic is choosing a sustainable model of ministry with a part-time pastor and a part-time pastoral salary. This lets us care honestly for our resources while building a community where ministry belongs to all of us—not only to the pastor.
My regular Mosaic workdays are Monday through Wednesday. Tuesdays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM and Wednesdays from 2:00–7:00 PM are open office hours. Thursdays through Saturdays are generally my days away, except for special events, and Sundays are worship days. If you contact me outside those hours, I will respond when I return unless it is a true pastoral emergency.
This rhythm is part of how we practice the values we talk about: rest, boundaries, shared leadership, and care for the whole person. Thank you for helping Mosaic become a place where we build ministry together.
