Membership at Mosaic
There is more than one way to belong at Mosaic. Our three membership paths reflect the different ways people connect with our Methodist, interfaith, and online communities.
You do not have to attend every program or agree with everyone about religion to belong. Membership is about building community, supporting our shared mission, and helping create a more loving and just world.
Mosaic United Methodist Members
Mosaic UMC membership is for people who want to become members of our United Methodist congregation and participate in the Christian life and ministries of Mosaic.
United Methodist members profess their faith in God, express their desire to follow Jesus, and promise to participate faithfully in the congregation through their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. This means praying for the community, showing up when they can, sharing their abilities and resources, serving others, and living out their faith in the world.
At Mosaic, these vows are not about perfection, pressure, or giving more than you have. They are a commitment to grow, care for one another, participate in community, and work together for love and justice.
Common Ground Collective Members
Common Ground Collective membership is for people from every faith tradition, spiritual path, and no faith tradition at all.
Common Ground members are curious about religion, culture, justice, and the values that connect us across our differences. Members gather to learn about one another’s beliefs and traditions, discover common ground without erasing meaningful differences, and explore how people from many backgrounds can work together to change the world.
You do not have to adopt a creed, convert to Christianity, or leave your own beliefs behind. You only need a willingness to learn, listen, respect others, and help build a compassionate and just community.
Circuit Riders
Circuit Rider membership is for people who live outside the Wilmington area but want to participate in Mosaic’s online programs and support the work we are doing.
Our Circuit Riders can join Harm to Healing, other online support groups, educational programs, community conversations, and online pastor’s office hours. Circuit Rider membership is free and allows people to become part of Mosaic’s community wherever they live.
We do not broadcast our worship services. Some members of our community are not publicly out as LGBTQ+ but want to worship in a place where they can be fully themselves. Respecting their safety and privacy is more important to us than putting our services online.
Our online programs provide other meaningful ways for Circuit Riders to connect, learn, receive support, and help us change the world.
Find Your Place
Whether you join as a Mosaic United Methodist member, a Common Ground Collective member, or a Circuit Rider, you are becoming part of a community committed to healing harm, building relationships, celebrating LGBTQ+ people, and empowering one another to change the world.
