Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission

Mosaic exists to help repair the harm the church has caused LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized communities. We acknowledge that churches have rejected people, separated families, encouraged discrimination, and left many without the relationships and support systems everyone deserves.

We cannot erase that harm, but we can take responsibility for creating something different. Our mission is to offer radical welcome, build trustworthy relationships, support healing, and work alongside those who have been pushed aside.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a safe and affirming space where people can build community, discover their gifts, and become empowered to change the world.

We imagine a community where people do not simply receive help—they find belonging, develop leadership, and help shape our shared future. Everything we do is guided by the principle “Nothing about us without us.” The people most affected by injustice must have a voice in deciding how we respond to it.

Our Commitment to the LGBTQ+ Community

Our special missions center the LGBTQ+ community because LGBTQ+ people have often been rejected by churches and separated from their families, friends, and other sources of support. This isolation can affect housing, food security, mental health, financial stability, and a person’s sense of belonging.

Mosaic is committed to helping rebuild those circles of care. Through worship, support groups, community meals, advocacy, and practical assistance, we are creating a chosen family where LGBTQ+ people are celebrated, supported, and empowered to lead.

We do not believe LGBTQ+ people need to be changed. We believe the church does.
