Weddings at Mosaic
Weddings at Mosaic
Mosaic celebrates love in all its beautiful forms. We welcome LGBTQ+ couples, heterosexual couples, interfaith couples, and couples whose beliefs may not fit neatly within one religious tradition.
The United Methodist Church recognizes marriage as a sacred, lifelong covenant between two consenting adults. United Methodist clergy may perform weddings after counseling with the couple and in accordance with state law and church guidelines. Current United Methodist policy includes same-gender couples while protecting each pastor’s responsibility to decide which weddings they will officiate. At Mosaic, Pastor Kelley joyfully officiates LGBTQ+ weddings. (Read the current United Methodist policy)
Weddings That Reflect Your Beliefs
Mosaic also welcomes interfaith weddings. Pastor Kelley will work with you to create a ceremony that respectfully reflects your beliefs, cultures, traditions, identities, and relationship. Your wedding does not have to follow a single religious format to be meaningful and sacred.
Premarital Counseling
Every couple married by Pastor Kelley participates in three premarital counseling sessions. These sessions are fully LGBTQ+ inclusive and recognize the particular experiences and challenges LGBTQ+ couples may face, including family relationships, religious harm, identity, chosen family, communication, and building supportive community.
The purpose of these conversations is not to judge your relationship or force it into a traditional model. They are designed to help you communicate openly, understand one another more deeply, and prepare for your life together.
Wedding Fees
Pastor Kelley’s wedding fee is $300 and includes all three premarital counseling sessions and officiating the ceremony. This fee is waived for members of Mosaic.
The church rental fee for weddings officiated by Pastor Kelley is $150. This fee is also waived for members, although we ask members to consider making a donation toward cleaning expenses.
Our building includes a full kitchen that may be used when planning your wedding or reception.
